Summer Bridge Lighting for Peace and Freedom

Summer brings not only light and warmth, but also hope and resistance.

At a time when political rhetoric is increasingly dominated by war, people are setting a silent yet radiant sign for peace.

Every day, politics calls more loudly for weapons. War seems to be the ultimate goal. Naturally, the usual salami tactics are being applied to gradually prepare people for war. Enemy images are being intensified. We've seen this in history before, yet propaganda keeps working wonders. Until one day, once again, German soldiers march to the front with cheers.

But those who do not want this protest — with heart, light, and music. Like during the bridge lightings over highways and country roads near Zeitz, Gera, in front of the Rippachtal interchange, and many other places across the country. Peace activists, humanitarians, brave and thoughtful people gather there to make visible what burns in many hearts: the desire for peace.

Anyone who wants to join, meet kindred spirits, or is simply curious, should just go. On Thursday, June 26, 2025, the peace-loving group around "DasRehlein" will be there again with music, food from the "Bridge Kitchen," and open arms: Click here for the map

Bridge lighting is more than protest – it is encounter, exchange, and community. Against forgetting, against silence. For freedom, for life.
