Patient transports to the MVZ in Saalstraße Weißenfels now cost an extra 137.50 euros! All the details!

Life writes new stories every day. Some of them get really expensive and affect those already dealt a tough hand by fate – wheelchair users.

On November 25, 2025, a patient had himself transported by a Weißenfels-based personal and wheelchair transport company from Weißenfels Neustadt to the MVZ in Saalstraße. The patient was picked up at 9:03 a.m. To get close to the wheelchair ramp, the driver entered the MVZ courtyard. To do so, he had to pass the barrier. As is proper, the patient was brought into the doctor’s office by the driver. So that the driver could exit the premises again with the vehicle, he received a chip that reopens the barrier. And already at 9:18 a.m., the driver was back at the company headquarters. Bringing the patient into the doctor’s office probably took about five minutes.

At pickup shortly before noon the same day, the same procedure – just in reverse. All very uncomplicated, just as a patient would hope.

On the lovely Friday of December 5, 2025, a letter arrived at the headquarters of the personal and wheelchair transport company. The company PARKcontrol24 had written. But not to send best wishes for St. Nicholas Day – instead to issue a demand: compensation for use and reimbursement of costs for the unauthorized use of the parking area or access road at Saalstraße 16 in Weißenfels. PARKcontrol24 wanted 50 euros for that. But that was not the end of the story. Additionally billed were: entering/processing the vehicle owner data for 4.50 euros, vehicle owner identification for 5.10 euros, investigation and verification costs for legal processing for 34.75 euros, administrative and processing fees for the private parking violation for 19.65 euros, as well as communication and handling costs and verification of potential injunctions for 23.35 euros. In total, that adds up to 137.35 euros. Not bad, right?

In the few minutes during which the driver was occupied picking up the patient inside the doctor’s office, a highly motivated employee of PARKcontrol24 apparently managed to document this wicked, disgraceful, and absolutely intolerable “unauthorized usage,” complete with photos, at lightning speed.

In the letter, PARKcontrol24 pointed out that all claims had been transferred to them by the client. Who this client is, however, was not stated.

They generously refrained from towing the vehicle, which according to PARKcontrol24 would have cost 350 euros. So the personal and wheelchair transport company saved a lot of money, right? Really warms your heart in this pre-Christmas season, doesn’t it?

The owner of the personal and wheelchair transport company, however, was not quite so delighted with this pre–St. Nicholas “gift” and called PARKcontrol24 to point out that a wheelchair patient had been brought to the general practitioner because he had an appointment there. The vehicle clearly displays “Personal and Wheelchair Transport” in large letters. The unfriendly employee on the other end of the phone wanted to see proof. The fact that the vehicle is clearly intended for transporting people with disabilities and that the doctor’s office had issued the chip for the barrier was not enough for her. They were to submit the transport voucher – which is difficult because it contains patient data – data protection. Naturally, that is always very important. Nevertheless, proof was required that the transport company is even allowed to drive onto the premises to bring patients to the doctor.

The owner asked what other proof would be accepted. The unfriendly woman said that proof from the owner or manager of the building (could that be PARKcontrol24’s client?) would also suffice to allow patients to be brought up to the wheelchair ramp. However, the unfriendly woman refused to say who the owner or manager of the MVZ building is in order to clarify the matter. That was not possible, she said – due to data protection. Naturally, that is always very important.

So a clarification was not possible. Although St. Nicholas Day was just around the corner, the unfriendly woman remained unmoved and ended the call.

The PARKcontrol24 letter set a payment deadline of December 16, 2025. Payment was to be made online via a “certified payment provider.”

It now remains to be seen whether the matter can be resolved with the doctor’s office, the building owner or manager, or the MVZ. Or whether wheelchair users, at least when visiting this MVZ, will have to walk again. Or perhaps – as already threatened by PARKcontrol24 – their lawyer or a debt collection agency will take over the matter, add a few extra euros, and eventually a court will have to decide.

Unless patients brought to this doctor’s office by a personal and wheelchair transport company simply slip the driver 140 euros in “tip” in advance, in case PARKcontrol24 decides to get in touch again in the future.
