Steel Meets Imagination: Art and Technology at the Model Railway WieheA trip full of surprises: The Model Railway Wiehe not only showcases fascinating miniature worlds but also currently invites visitors to an exhibition of impressive metal sculptures by the artist Ronald Knoll. A perfect destination for an inspiring family outing – even at Easter!  The Model Railway Wiehe is well-known far beyond the borders of Thuringia for its impressive miniature landscapes and meticulously detailed railways. However, this spring, visitors can expect another highlight: the exhibition of monumental metal sculptures by the artist Ronald Knoll.  Under the title "Awakened Consciousness," Knoll presents a collection of his most significant works from 2016 to the present – including "The Modern Man," "Uta von Ballenstedt," "The Merkelbot," and the central work, "Archangel Michael." The latter, created in 2020, bears the face of Donald Trump and symbolizes profound societal and political changes. Its flaming sword, which penetrates the pyramid, is rich in symbolism: an artistic commentary on the global financial system and the establishment. As a special addition, Knoll also presents a large-format poster of his "Bee" – another symbol of his charged, imaginative art. This exhibition is a rare opportunity to experience large-scale, expressive sculptures up close – nestled in the fascinating world of the Model Railway, where small locomotives rush through spectacular landscapes. The combination of technical precision, artistic depth, and a family-friendly atmosphere makes a visit to Wiehe a thoroughly rewarding experience – especially during the holidays like Easter. Good to know: The Model Railway Wiehe is open daily – including holidays – from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM (last admission at 4:00 PM). Dogs are allowed on a leash as long as they behave calmly and remain clean. The dining area is available for guests, which can also be visited without an exhibition ticket. And for those arriving by electric car, there is a charging station directly at the main parking lot for free use.
