Democratic Initiative Demands Death Penalty – Threat or Provocation?Death penalty for negotiating with the AfD and for referendums punishable by law? A dubious "Democratic Initiative" is causing a stir with radical slogans and dangerous ideas – an attack on our core values or the next step toward dictatorship?

A so-called “Democratic Initiative for the Abolition of Elections”? Huh, what are they writing here? “After the disgraceful electoral success of the neo-Nazi party AfD...” Well, someone had to vote for them in our democratic electoral system (it wasn’t me—I admit that). Until then, I stayed quite calm... until I read their demands: “The formation of government must be enforced regardless of the election result.” WHAT IS DEMOCRATIC ABOUT THAT? “Coalition negotiations with the AfD must be punished by death penalty.” DOES THAT MEAN THAT ANYONE WHO NEGOTIATES OR TALKS WITH THE AfD SHOULD BE KILLED? “Demands for referendums must be punished by imprisonment. There is no people, and therefore no referendums.” IS SOMEONE OUT OF TOUCH WITH REALITY AND LIFE HERE? What drives the author(s) to write something like this? What value do they place on a human life? How much opinion do they tolerate with their “democratic initiative”? First, they assume a “renewed Holocaust,” before listing other points. Very strange... From which circles does the author(s) come? At the end, they list parties and associations. This is actually common when listing supporters for initiatives. Are these groups being misused to back their statements and demands? Do the listed parties know about their supposed support? Or do they actually agree and support this letter (one might want to ask this question)? Why do I want to publish this? The answer is simple. In my eyes, the demands alone are so alarming that I see the responsible parties as a danger to society. Here, demands with fatal consequences are made, simply for considering living democracy. Furthermore, the author(s) are not named or known because they do not want to be. The authors are the true “heroes of democracy” – spreading agitation and dividing society without seeking open discourse or showing their face. More or less, I can imagine who the author(s) might be. It shows their low respect for critical voices. A small hint to the author(s): You can easily look up the word “DEMOCRACY” on Google and, if you have the ability to understand, also absorb its meaning.
