Will they swoon at every sentence, every word—oh, what am I saying: every syllable—uttered by their idol, and at least inwardly applaud frenetically? How long will it take until one of the fans, overwhelmed by euphoria, can no longer contain himself, jumps up, and shouts into the hall: “District Administrator Götz Ulrich: I WANT TO HAVE A CHILD WITH YOU!”… after District Administrator Götz Ulrich once again explains that many pensioners in the district cannot afford a place in a nursing home and that processing applications for support takes five to six months because the administration is overwhelmed with such requests, Yes, one of them and not one of her! Why “Is that so?” And this despite the fact that they themselves constantly demand from every “contrarian,” conspiracy theorist, and tinfoil-hat wearer to show the sources they refer to. How are fact-checkers supposed to check facts if they first have to laboriously google everything? Nevertheless, these attempts to grapple with the *Bürgerstimme* articles show me how relevant this website (not newspaper) has become. This is demonstrated not only by the roughly 300,000 monthly page views over the past while, but also by such authority-worshipping government fans from Antifa to CDU, whose deepest desire seems to be to strengthen their idols’ backs in this way. Entirely in line with the slogan of the former head of the RKI, Lothar Wieler: “Never question anything!” As a brief additional remark: The district administrator is the chief administrative officer and thus the main person responsible for what the district administration does. Therefore, he is the focus when there are things to criticize. And there are plenty of those.
