Great Fear in the Burgenland District: Will the AfD ruin our wonderful energy transition and beautiful structural change?We all love it, we all want it: structural change! But one specter is ever-present in the minds of our beloved politicians. The specter of the AfD. 
The energy transition, absolutely vital for the survival of us all, simply has to happen. Because if we don’t carry it out, then things will get very bad on our planet. CO2 poisoning – people will collapse in the streets everywhere – just like during Corona. One heat record will chase the next. The media will report breathlessly whenever somewhere in the boondocks a fraction of a degree more is measured than in the last 100,000 years. We can only prevent this if we mortify ourselves and stop CO2. Deindustrialization is the best means for that. We know it from the post-reunification period. The many factories in the GDR that were shut down back then massively improved the world climate, didn’t they? And as the graphic shows, we can do quite a bit to save the world from CO2 collapse. The light blue curve is China, yellow is the USA, blue is the EU, light green is India and turquoise-green is Japan. As you can see, we have saved less than China has added. India is also increasing. But we simply ignore that, so that no one gets the idea of doubting politics.

We must not underestimate the political explosive power of the state election.” He sees a great danger for the IKIG – that wonderful Intermunicipal Industrial Area that is supposed to seal off hundreds of hectares of valuable farmland in order to attract industry that so far has not settled in the Burgenland District or nearby. With IKIG, financed by many, many millions of taxpayer euros, industry is supposed to spring up here. Oh yes! Most certainly! As soon as wages in other EU countries or perhaps even in China rise above the German level, that will happen. Then the companies that have not yet gone bankrupt, but have left our best Germany that ever existed, will come back. So, in a few decades or so. And what does the far-right AfD want as opposed to the green-populist CDU?They want to expand existing areas. How foolish?! As if others hadn’t already tried that. If companies don’t want to settle despite years of efforts in the towns and district, then expansion won’t help either. Companies only settle if something like IKIG is created completely new. It can’t possibly be otherwise, right?Weißenfels city councilwoman Grit Wagner wrote under the Mitteldeutsche Zeitung post: “I would think about the WHY and the HOW. Why does it apparently turn out the way it does? Based on my thoughts, this question must eventually be asked. My conclusion: Ignorance of politics. Criticism is largely unwanted. Citizens are allowed to go vote after the ‘golden promises’ from heaven, or after being deceived by previously made statements. After the election, the citizen must remain silent, and referendums or surveys are not really desired. Unfortunately, some politicians believe that citizens are incapable of forming opinions on certain matters. Or are they afraid the opinion or assessment would turn out differently from that of the politicians? Is everyone allowed to think for themselves? Whether on a large or small scale, if citizens are deceived or lied to, trust is lost. Until the next campaign promise… and most politicians have been playing this game for years to keep their ALPHA position. What it will be like with an AfD-led government? No idea.
