The FirefighterA submission by a firefighter sharing his perspective on the situation. As part of the "Citizens' Voice" initiative, we asked our questions to find out: What moves people? Why are they taking to the streets? What is on their minds? We didn’t want to talk about the people – we wanted to hear from them directly, to learn what was on their hearts. That’s why we handed out forms where people could write down their reasons. And we truly received many impressive letters. The effort people put into this deserves to be heard. I believe it is worth being read out loud here. I would now like to read a letter signed by someone named Hans Huber – a firefighter. Even though we don’t have a phone number for him, the content is still very meaningful. He writes to the district administrator: "Dear District Administrator, My life’s journey includes 35 years of active service with the professional fire brigade. In countless missions, my colleagues and I helped people in all imaginable situations – without distinguishing whether someone caused the fire or accident intentionally or carelessly. Our mission was clear: we helped everyone, without judging or stigmatizing. In stark contrast to what is happening in society today – where the vaccinated are portrayed as ‘the good’ and the unvaccinated as ‘the bad.’ I urge you to publicly oppose this stigmatization. Only then can we avoid the division of society. During my training at the Federal Academy for Civil Protection in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler, we also received instruction on handling pandemics and epidemics. We were taught basic principles – yet today, these are barely reflected in public reporting. The media is dominated by fear and panic. Leading institutes such as the RKI and the Paul-Ehrlich-Institut publish figures that often do not present a realistic picture of the situation. The full truth is not reflected in these statistics. Health Minister Lauterbach himself said: "Whoever tells the truth is politically dead." Dear District Administrator, I urge you: Stand up for an honest and fact-based presentation of the situation – including the side effects of vaccines and vaccine-related deaths. As a politician, you are obliged to report in a neutral and truthful manner. In our training, it was emphasized that one should never inject into an ongoing pandemic – because that means always running behind the spread. That is exactly what we are seeing now. And I ask you: Why are hospital beds being cut during a pandemic? Why is a lung clinic in Hamburg being closed at the end of the year? You yourself once said on the Zeitzer market square that a pediatric and maternity ward was supposedly not "worth it." But our children are our future – our only real wealth! The term ‘solidarity’ is often used today. I have lived it all my life: With over 120 blood donations, countless unpaid hours in fire service, even on weekends and public holidays – and during disaster relief efforts like the 2002 flood on the Mulde or 2013 on the Elster. Today, millions of people are fighting for their very existence – Self-employed, shop owners, craftsmen, artists. And where is the solidarity from politicians who are so quick to use big words in their speeches? Where is the solidarity of corporations who are amassing billions – especially pharmaceutical companies, currently earning €880 in net profit every second? Why does the state assume liability for vaccine damages – using our tax money? Every craftsman is liable for his own product – yet this principle is now being undermined to the detriment of the people in our country. And why are small shops not even allowed to serve two customers at once, while supermarkets thrive? Where is the solidarity of the big players with the small ones? Instead of true solidarity, we see division – especially over the issue of vaccination." Unfortunately, I couldn’t make out the full surname, but of course we are keeping the original letters safe. We plan to present them in a public exhibition here in the Burgenlandkreis. I warmly invite all elected representatives – at the district, state, and federal level – to use this traveling exhibition as an opportunity to engage in dialogue with the public.
