POLITICS of LIES! WHERE IS THE OUTCRY?

Demonstration for Peace in Weißenfels on 23.04.2025

Transcript processed by AI. The spoken word in the video prevails:

Um, I hereby open our demonstration today.
There is really a lot to tell, a lot that needs to be said.
Let’s start with this: Recently, we’ve often been asked in the Berliner Zeitung, the BZ, “Where do you actually get your information from?”

Of course, we always try to research in such a way that we don’t fall for fake news.
And one of the few media outlets that, in our view, still reports neutrally or close to reality is actually the BZ, the Berliner Zeitung.

I found something interesting there – an interview with the former Minister of the Interior after 1990, Hans-Peter Michael Diestel.
He gave the BZ a major interview, which is really exciting.

Hans and I will soon read a few excerpts from it.
You can also read the full interview online – just search for “Peter Michael Diestel BZ” on Google and you’ll find it.
The interview was published on April 15, by the way.

The headline reads:
"Peter Michael Diestel on Baerbock and Co.: I am afraid of the political stupidity surrounding us."
That headline alone says a lot.

The article continues:
The established parties are massively losing support among the population.
The CDU under Friedrich Merz, despite being the election winner, did not achieve a good result but rather the second-worst result since reunification.

Germany’s oldest bourgeois party clearly shows:
The ideas of great political thinkers like Ferdinand Lassalle, August Bebel, Eduard Bernstein, or Karl Kautsky no longer play a role today.

The work of great Social Democratic politicians like Willy Brandt, Egon Bahr, or Gerhard Schröder also seems to have become meaningless – at least if you look at the election results.

The CDU, which had been slightly on the upswing in the last federal elections, has now suffered significant losses – despite winning the election, a step toward political irrelevance.

Today, there is no longer any trace of the spirit of earlier CDU leaders like Konrad Adenauer, Ludwig Erhard, Richard von Weizsäcker, or Helmut Kohl.

Instead, two severely weakened political forces have joined together in a coalition agreement – with a single goal:
To calm the people with the so-called “firewall.”

But we now know: This firewall was ineffective.
Because you can’t simply ban or exclude a strong political party – you have to engage with it on a substantive level.

Voters are not stupid.
They notice when they are being lied to and deceived.

Such deception, as practiced by the CDU towards its own clientele in recent months, has never before occurred in German politics in the 20th and 21st centuries.

So – I’ll now hand over to Hans to take over the final part.
So you don’t think: "Man, he’s just reading everything!"
But what Michael Diestel says here, unfortunately, is just the truth – and we invite you:
Read it for yourself and form your own opinion!

I'll see if I can manage to get through this.
A few years ago, on a talk show, a Green Party politician asked me where in the Basic Law it says that one must be smart and educated to hold an elected office.
I was speechless.
It's actually regulated in the Basic Law. Anyone can look it up.
Complete exclusion of East German citizens from politics and societal structures is unconstitutional.

I think I'll stop reading out loud now and see if we might do better by just talking here.
What we are seeing right before our eyes is this: The EU is trying to pursue a path independent from the USA.
That’s something we would have wished for a year ago. But it didn’t happen then.
At that time, Biden was still in office, and everything he said was implemented here in Germany.

Now suddenly Trump is back. I am certainly no friend of Mr. Trump, but he tried to do what he promised before the election – namely, to create peace.
You can criticize the way he went about it, but he opened up negotiations with Russia. And that sets him apart.
Ukraine cannot negotiate, because Mr. Zelensky has ruled it out.

What remained of the 30-hour ceasefire, you saw – the breach came from the Ukrainian side.
Then they wanted an extension by 30 days to reorganize their troops and strike back more effectively.
It’s right to say: We won’t go along with that. You couldn’t even manage the 30 hours – now come to the table and negotiate.

Our European politicians are afraid of this. Because the issue includes Crimea – which is Russian, and will remain Russian.
Many don't want to accept that.

Mr. Merz stands before us as a potential next Chancellor. He wants to use delivered Taurus missiles to damage or destroy the Crimean Bridge.
Think about what that means: That’s war.
Not a war from Ukraine, but a war of Germany against Russia.
Because these missiles cannot be deployed without German personnel.
The fact that no one has intervened yet is telling.

It’s high time someone stopped him.
He has lied to his voters, especially those from the CDU.
We didn’t believe him – and now we are better off because of it.

What he said yesterday no longer matters to him today.
Now there’s talk about cutting social benefits. During negotiations, a minimum wage of 15 euros had been agreed – but it simply isn’t being implemented.

Many voted for him because they believed him. That’s the problem we now have.
We are getting a Chancellor who doesn’t stick to what he promised beforehand.
How should he be judged? By the consequences he leaves behind?
Maybe someone will still manage to stop this Taurus plan.

Because if it turns out that Germany is actively involved in a war against Russia, then Germany will become a target – as Foreign Minister Lavrov has stated.
And I believe the geostrategic data of the Chancellery are well known.
That won’t do any of us any good.

We don't want war. We are standing here for peace. For an end to the dying, for an end to the incitement of peoples.
What we once accused the USA of – no European politician today can claim innocence.
Nor the small northern states, which are now stirring up hostility endlessly.
That must not happen.

The public media are complicit. They delegitimize the GDR. We have an Eastern Commissioner who has nothing better to do than to insult the "stupid Ossis" (East Germans).
He’s supposed to support the East – but he does the opposite.
The life achievements of the people here are devalued. School, education, work – supposedly none of it is worth anything.

There is a terror of opinion going on. And it goes so far that they say: "What you are saying is a lie."
And now comes Ms. Faeser – she wants to establish a Ministry of Lies.
People are supposed to be prosecuted for telling a lie.
But who decides what is a lie?
What does that have to do with freedom of opinion?
Freedom of opinion also means freedom of demonstration – that is a fundamental right.

I hope this law doesn’t pass.
At some point even the last members of the Bundestag must come to their senses.
The new Bundestag will convene soon – maybe they will act differently.

Germany is posting red numbers for the third year in a row. The country that once was the engine of Europe.
The automobile industry, with which we supplied the whole world, lies in ruins.
Again, a supplier has closed down – 500 jobs lost.
Previously, it was 30,000 – and no one cared either.

The Chinese have overtaken the German auto industry. And now comes the rude awakening.
The unipolar world order no longer works. Now politicians with real understanding are needed – if there are any.

We are bringing this to the streets.

And one more thing: No one should feel insulted. You, who are here, are the ones who truly want to make a difference.
Maybe others will join in. Maybe something will move.

I’m happy that after the cold break you have turned out in such great numbers.
And we will continue – we promise you that.

The microphone is open for all those who truly want peace.

Hello, I’m from Halle, and I only found out about this last night, when I said: every event in this direction...
The poster was made together with Dresden – 5 hours of continuous rain – so it doesn't look quite as nice anymore.
And I think we need to sharpen our thinking.

I’m also the one who usually says a few words about this in Halle on Mondays, where I can say: maybe we need to think about something.
45 years of the GDR, 45 years of the existence of the NVA (National People’s Army), of the Warsaw Pact, of the Soviet Union – ensured a period of peace in modern times. For over 45 years.
Because they were there. That’s one thing.

If we take a look: German tanks have been shot down in Ukraine – with Bundeswehr crews. That’s one thing.
Another thing: German Leopard tanks rolled to the front flying Bandera flags. The federal government didn’t comment on that either.

And now we have... we can afford the luxury of saying: we have a scientific service.
I hope it’s still available online.
The Scientific Service of the Bundestag prepared an expert report in 2022 and asked about the situation regarding arms deliveries to Ukraine.

And the Scientific Service says: Yes, that’s still okay – it doesn’t make us a party to the war.
But: with the training of Ukrainian mercenaries, we are participating in the war.

And when I see – events are always diverse in Ukraine – then we learn from Turkish and American intelligence services that Mr. Zelensky shelled that children's hospital – just to get more resources, more money.
And that the money disappeared into dark channels.

Until 2022, Ukraine was the most corrupt country in Europe.
These are things to consider...

And also the only country that operated its economy with child trafficking, with surrogacy – uh – as an actual business sector.
Where I can only say: These are the people we’re supporting?
In my eyes, these are fascists 2.0.
And I think: that’s sad.

And if we also see: The federal government is supporting the genocide in Gaza – by now over 40,000 civilians have been killed.

And if we were to follow the policy of the federal government, or their stance on this – then from newborns to over-80-year-old grandmothers, all of them would have to be recognized Hamas terrorists.
Otherwise, it would be genocide that is being supported.

That really makes me wonder.
And now you might want to label me as intellectually inferior or educationally disadvantaged – but that’s not the case.
I have a high school diploma. I have also studied.

And when I talk today with physics students or physicists from the old federal states, I can only internally throw my hands up in despair.

Unfortunately, I’m not yet lucky enough to be receiving a pension – and the outlook there isn’t very good either.
Last year, apparently over 300 million euros were missing from the pension fund, and had to be taken from other sources.

Funds were needed – for schools, for education, for the healthcare system, for culture...
Everywhere we have no money.
But into the bottomless pit – Ukraine – we can sink billions.

I can only shake my head. Something isn’t right here.
Thank you.

Yes, it’s really nice to hear from a fellow citizen of Halle who surely attended the Easter March.

Uh, we had a call published in the MZ (local newspaper), we pointed it out, but you have surely read that only our demonstration was mentioned in the press – probably deliberately keeping quiet about the rest.

Uh, I would like to align myself with the last speaker.
Unfortunately, we are always dealing with double standards.
And where is the outcry when I read in the press or in letters to the editor that Russia has shelled Sumy in the past few days – resulting, sadly, in so and so many deaths.
There is a huge outcry, just as the last speaker said.

But when the Gaza Strip is bombarded and over 40,000 people suffer and lose their lives, when children have to die in hospitals – because it is said: "Yes, Hamas is still hiding under those tunnels..." and so on and so forth – then that’s a disgrace. An outrage.

And I ask myself: Where is the outcry?

We are standing here today – and this is our motto:
"Never again war – instead of billions for weapons: create diplomacy and peace."

This is our primary mission.
And there is also an interesting article written by a journalist, stating that Mr. Zelensky is not one of the finest.
But rather – as the previous speaker said – Zelensky has consolidated his power through the war in such a way that he is now highly regarded in the West and is hardly imaginable without.

That is unfortunately the truth that is being written.
But the truth we want to spread here is unfortunately not being recognized.

Therefore I say: Where is diplomacy in our diplomatic circles?
Ms. Baerbock has completely failed in this regard.
And I can only say: Is she supposed to become the next UN President for the coming years?

What a disgrace.
Thank you.

So, I’ll lower it a bit for the shorter people.
I won’t say much today, but I had hoped for a few more people to show up.

Normally, everyone who says they want peace, who says they don't want to wage war – they should all, no matter where they put their cross on the ballot, no matter which party line they follow – they should all stand here together for the same goal and support it.

Today I had a very nice conversation with a young man, and uh, quite spontaneously we ended up talking about politics.
And uh, he said: "Well, we're already not allowed to say what we want to say anymore. We're already looked at sideways, already pushed into some corner. We’re already being threatened, called Nazis."

I said: "Yes, that's normal nowadays. But don't let it get to you."
And he said to me: "Yeah, they keep threatening us, saying we are forgetting the past, what happened. But in reality – those who keep saying we owe something because of the past – they are weaponizing the past against people who think normally."

And that really got me thinking.
Yes, we have not forgotten the past. We don't want the past to repeat itself in the present. And these people are truly using it as a weapon.

When I was recently talking to someone else, they asked me: "Well, how can we prevent things from escalating into war again and again? What can we do?"
I thought it over – and then I came up with quite a funny idea.

My funny idea was that everyone in any government – in any country – should have to sign a declaration at the start of their term that in the event of war, they would have to be the first ones lying in the trenches on the front line. Before any other citizen.

I would bet that none of these gentlemen would dare to sign that. Because it is exactly those people who determine your lives who have no interest in going to the front themselves – but instead use you, your husbands, your children, your grandchildren as cannon fodder.

They are not worthy of leading a country if they have such intentions.
If they have disputes to settle, they should go to an island – or anywhere else – alone.
They should also leave people in peace.
It’s their war – not the war of us citizens.

And because I said I’d keep it short:
Thank you.

Yes, hello here on the marketplace in Weißenfels.
Even if the number of people here is rather small – it's nice that there are still people who arrange themselves for peace, who want to live in peace.

Today I found an article online that really moved me. I would like to briefly read it to you – I printed it out, and everyone can form their own thoughts about it:

Do we want a tomorrow for our children and grandchildren?
The people should be sovereign, and according to the will of the people, things should happen.
Never again will it be like that.
If you express dissatisfaction, you are ostracized – and those up there don’t listen either.

Let’s start with the smallest link of the so-called people-elected representatives:
In the municipalities, elections are held – but who is really being represented?
The citizens?
Rarely does one of the elected dare to speak freely.
And the mayors? Well, in most cases they just want to shine.

Hello? Are you serious?
You elected officials have to manage scarcity – in everything!
You should speak up, name the shortages, and work to fix them.
As if this country had no money.

Think about what a municipality and its citizens together generate – how much of it actually comes back?
You have to beg for every cent and are happy for any little grant.
And for that, you obediently keep your mouths shut and are grateful when you get a tiny drop of your own money back.

Money must be there in abundance – billions are being burned for wars in other countries.
And now, with your miserable silence, you are even risking the lives of your own children, grandchildren, and friends.

In front of some town halls, flags with doves of peace are raised – silently and quietly as a symbol.
A nice gesture, but those at the top neither see it nor hear it.
Or is your desire for peace not as great as you like to suggest?

Christian – we have had a CDU government for years now, many years. Just re-elected.
Christian Democratic Union – Christian?
Then what about the Fifth Commandment: You shall not kill?
Or has that commandment gone out of fashion?
Does it only apply to others and not to Christians?
Is that why you now want to actively participate in a war?
Will German bombs once again fly to the East?

This country was once ruled by a narcissist – and that didn't end peacefully either.

The Eighth Commandment: You shall not bear false witness.
The Eighth Commandment says: You shall not lie about your neighbor.
That also means: You shall not lie.

Who lied to the people during the elections through and through?
Who is the biggest liar?

Every true Christian should, in view of the current events and intended actions, loudly express their discontent, act accordingly, and draw clear lines.
Yet still most of the lambs remain silent – especially those who would have the power to make a difference.

Thus the lying and cheating continue – on a small scale and a large scale.
That does not show strength – it shows your servitude and your obedience for a drop of promised favor.

The people who rebuilt this country after the last war, who cared for it and worked with all their strength for a peaceful future – these people are now being trampled underfoot.

A country, once proud of its poets and thinkers, is now being restocked – with false judges and executioners.

If we still want to have a tomorrow – if there is to be a tomorrow for our children and grandchildren – then we must not allow this country to become a ship of fools.

Take away the power of the fools' arrogance.
If you remain forever silent – then the fools have won.

And to all Christians: True Christians should now simply revisit their Ten Commandments and think carefully about where the flaw in the system lies.

Thank you very much.

For the homeland.

Yes, I hope that a few more speakers will come up to the podium.
As I said – there is so much to discuss and to talk about.

I’d like to already point out that our next rally will take place on May 14th.
I’ll mention the time now, because some people approached us and said they would prefer it at 6 p.m. – perhaps the turnout will be larger then.

We’ll give it a try and kindly ask you:
On 14.5., 6 p.m., here on the marketplace.

Thank you.

Yes, dear friends of peace,
Oh, quite a few are present.
Mentally, of course, many more are here – thank you.
You must always have a helpful spirit with you.
I wanted to say something positive.
I remember a quote from a thinker, though I can’t recall the name now, who said: "When a society is in decline, it does everything wrong, and by doing everything wrong, it does everything right."
Think about that. It’s truly a thought-provoking statement.

And why do I bring this up? Because I recently heard two positive bits of news that I’d like to use to offer some encouragement. One – I don’t know if it’s true – but Mr. Orbán intends to gradually withdraw from the EU, because the EU, unfortunately, has not developed the way it claimed it would. Rather, it has become a tool to strangle the peoples instead of serving the common good and respecting the democracy of the countries.
That’s the first thing.

And the second is, I heard today: Mr. Martin Schwab – Klaus Schwab from the WEF, who for years has been training our elites through programs like Young Global Leaders – is now facing some kind of investigation or review regarding embezzlement and so on.
For me, this is symbolic, much like the whole NGO business, those 551 organizations supported with our tax money.
It shows that this society, having detached itself from "we represent the opinion of the citizens and the people," and from keeping its campaign promises, is now searching for ways to still control the people. But it's becoming harder and harder.
They are backed up against the wall. They have to insult, stigmatize, slander, and demonize political opponents who think differently. That’s the last tool they still have instead of saying: "Okay, we are representatives of the people. Our only job is to represent our citizens."
It’s actually quite simple: a successful election campaign and a successful party development based on this principle: "We want to be the representatives of our citizens who elected us."
Otherwise, if not in the current election, then certainly in the next one, or definitely in the one after, they will face a major defeat.

As far as I know, no method has yet been invented to make common sense obsolete. It always prevails – sooner or later.
And this common sense is with us – although I see it less and less often. Maybe I don't have the right glasses on, but we can’t do without it. We can’t ignore realities, even if our former Minister of Economic Affairs constantly felt surrounded by them.
He could have acknowledged them, he could have reacted to them, instead of complaining why realities don't match the ideas taught in his seminars and ideological congresses, where he gets teary-eyed applause from his community and the Green Party congress.
No, realities are different, and they don’t care about that. And that should give us courage.
Even after 40 years of the GDR and reality denial through the "Aktuelle Kamera" (state news program), at some point it was no longer possible for this country to ignore realities.
And it will be the same here.
The Federal Republic started from a different economic level, but we’ve now managed – how long has German reunification been? 35 years? We need 5 more years. After 40 years, by my mathematical understanding.
Apparently, that’s the task at hand.
Yes, you can destroy everything – and sooner or later, when people suffer real economic hardship, they will again be interested in not spending their money on wars or other nonsense, because people – people have no interest in war. They don't benefit from war.
Others profit from war.
That’s something to think about. Every Kiesewetter and Roth and all those who cry for war should think about: who wants war and who needs war? I don’t – and I don’t think you do either.

Thank you.

So, uh, dear friends of peace, whoever wants peace must know what war causes.
And now we are approaching an anniversary, the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, and we can observe that the German government is in the process of excluding those who contributed most to the defeat of the Hitler regime — the Soviet Union — from remembrance.
It’s unbelievable, but it’s happening right now.
And this Foreign Office, under the excellent leadership of our Ms. Baerbock, has issued a directive to the municipalities. They are to use their property rights if someone from Russia appears.
This means they are being instructed to show the victors the door. That’s terrible, it really is. Uh, just imagine that. But the outcry that should have come has not.
And the further west we go, the stronger the Russia-bashing becomes. They have nothing else to do but list what terrible people they are. And when they come — oh dear — they are trying to cultivate fear in our people.
In the East, it’s not working quite as well because most of us have experience with Russians that is not nearly as catastrophic as the lies that are being spread about them.
But we want to go against this current, and on May 8th at 4 p.m. at the Soviet War Memorial in Weißenfeld, we want to hold a memorial hour to remember what brought us peace.
And I invite all who wish to join us in commemorating the end of the war. At the Soviet War Memorial in Klememberg Park, 4 p.m., we want to organize something. So if you have time and would like to join us, please come.
Thank you.

This fits well now. Uh, we also attended the Easter March in Dresden, and maybe you remember that Ulrike Guérot presented the European Peace Project. And we can all take part, namely on Friday, May 19th at 5 p.m., uh, no, on Friday, May 9th at 5 p.m.
I’ll quickly read from it. The website is europeanpeaceproject.eu. Uh, if the EU and its national governments want to lead us into a war against Russia, they are betraying all the fundamental European principles of peace, democracy, freedom, and international understanding. Therefore, we, the citizens of Europe, are taking the future of this wonderful continent into our own hands. We are launching the European Peace Project on May 9th, 2025, at 5 p.m.
Let us all together, simultaneously in all countries across the European continent and in all European languages, proclaim peace from our balconies and in our public squares with a performative speech act. Afterwards, let us celebrate.
The text, uh, the manifesto, is on this website and I would like to read a short excerpt that fits very well right now:
We, the citizens of Europe, hereby declare this war to be over. We will not participate in the war games. We will not turn our men and sons into soldiers, our daughters into nurses on the battlefield, or our countries into battlegrounds. We offer to immediately send a delegation of European citizens to Kyiv and Moscow to initiate dialogue. We will no longer stand by and watch our future and our children being sacrificed on the altar of power politics.
Yes, so we can all consider whether we want to participate in this project. Maybe, uh, we will also think about organizing a demonstration in Laumbenburg to present and read out this manifesto.
In any case, I want to emphasize: war affects us all, and we will not participate. The most important thing is to say no and to say: we will not participate.

Yes, maybe if no one else wants to speak. Uh, I mentioned a few weeks ago that we were trying to invite a few prominent figures. Uh, I also wrote to Willy Brandt’s son, Peter Brandt. I even received a reply. Professor Peter Brandt, who is retired but still active in academia, wrote to me privately saying that because he is so much in demand across Germany for lectures and readings, he regrets that he cannot accept our invitation at the moment. But he said he would try to arrange something positive toward the end of the year.
It’s unfortunate, but you can see and notice that someone who signed the appeal of the 38 prominent figures is so highly sought after. Also, someone you still often see on TV: Katarina Witt. Katarina Witt is one of the few who is against the war, who shares our opinion, and who publicly stands by it as a former top athlete. That means something, and you can only say "chapeau" and "bravo," and we hope that others will follow, just like us, who are for peace and not for war.
That was also the logo of the Easter March: "Never again war."
I want to end with what the press is currently writing, a little article from Easter:
Let's move to military matters: To even have the slightest chance of victory, the West would have to massively increase the quantity and quality of its weapons deliveries to Kyiv. But even on the Taurus missile, opinions differ. Moreover, NATO countries themselves have major gaps in their arsenals to fill, and even the best weapons are useless if Ukraine cannot send enough soldiers to the front for a long period of time. That, too, is questionable. Europe urgently needs a clear strategy: victory or bitter compromise. Yes, you have to wonder how the press can write something like that at Easter.
There’s a beautiful saying by Luther: "Look the people in the mouth." (meaning: listen to what the people are saying).
And with that, I end today’s demonstration.
