Registration is at the halfway mark for the 3rd Weißenfels "Run Against Violence." Over 250 starting spots for the charity run, which takes place on August 28, 2024, from 4:30 PM at Klemmberg, have already been booked. Citizens can register online for the event until August 25, 2024: https://lauf-gegen-gewalt.de.

The organizing team is also excited about active participation from running groups. Whether it’s an extra training session with your sports club, a team-building activity with colleagues, a family reunion, or an event with friends, a school class, or a daycare group—the Weißenfels "Run Against Violence" offers the chance for shared experiences and simultaneously allows participants to take a stand for peaceful coexistence and courageous civic action. The Integra daycare team is seizing this opportunity and will participate with over 40 employees in the charity run. About 15 after-school care children from Integra will also take part with their educators.

“Violence prevention in daycares is a very important topic, especially since we have noticed a coarsening of language and behavior in society for several years now, including among children. Our profession carries a great responsibility to teach children in their early years to resolve conflicts peacefully, respect others, and show consideration. Participating in the ‘Run Against Violence’ is therefore almost a duty for us, as it is so important to bring this issue into the spotlight,” says Anette Müller, head of the Integra daycares. She also praised the information area, which will be set up again this year alongside the charity run at the Bismarck Tower. More than 40 booths will educate about forms of violence, present counseling services, showcase prevention measures, and provide information on violence intervention.

Among the participants from Integra will be the pedagogical teams of the daycares "Kunterbunt," "Kleeblatt," "Kunterbunte Kinderträume," "Kunterbuntes Kinderhaus," and "Kunterbunte Forscherwelt." Several employees from the administration have also registered. Integra’s CEO Ralf Müller will also take part. Most participants will tackle the two-kilometer course, which can also be walked. “But we also have ambitious colleagues who are already training regularly after work for the five-kilometer run and promoting healthy nutrition at work. That is a great motivation for all of us,” says Anette Müller. For her, participating in the "Run Against Violence" is also a team-building measure. Integra even ordered jerseys so that colleagues can appear in a unified look.

If you want to follow Integra’s example and participate as a large group in the 3rd Weißenfels "Run Against Violence," you can also use the event’s website to register your group: https://lauf-gegen-gewalt.de.

The race schedule:
4:30 PM: Bambini cross obstacle run (great prizes for participating kids)
5:00 PM: 2-kilometer run (running and walking – for all fitness levels)
5:30 PM: 10-kilometer run (for ambitious runners)
5:45 PM: 5-kilometer run
6:00 PM: NEW 3-kilometer Nordic walking

Motto 2024: Violence in Sports
The entry fee for persons aged 18 and over is €10 and benefits a charitable project. This year, it will fund workshops by the Saxony-Anhalt State Sports Association on violence prevention, which can then be utilized by sports clubs in the Burgenland district. Younger runners can participate in the charity run free of charge.

The "Run Against Violence" is organized in cooperation with the City of Weißenfels, the Bundeswehr at the Weißenfels/Naumburg location, and the Sports and Leisure Department.
