Sometimes you really have to wonder whether people still think about what is being decided politically, or whether we simply accept everything that is presented to us. For years, new multi-billion aid packages for Ukraine have been approved again and again. At the same time, reports about corruption keep surfacing, political tensions within Europe are increasing, and yet things just continue as if there were no questions and no limits. Even statements by Zelenskyy are now causing people to shake their heads — but apparently not the majority, and certainly not our politicians. When Hungary blocked further aid, a remark directed at Viktor Orbán was made that can quite clearly be understood as a threat, or at least a massive provocation. And yet this seems to play no role in the political debate?! Instead, here in Germany we keep hearing from our government that support for Ukraine must be the top priority?! Friedrich Merz said clearly and plainly at a press conference that solidarity should first and foremost go to Ukraine — before support within our own country! Honestly, I have to ask: Who the hell shat into your brains for you to keep supporting this contempt for your own population? Our economy is weakening. Companies are struggling with rising costs. Jobs are coming under pressure. At the same time, poverty keeps growing: Children go to school without a warm meal. Pensioners line up at food banks even though they worked their entire lives. Families no longer know how they are supposed to pay their bills. And yet, there always seems to be money available for ever more billions abroad. How long do you actually want to keep looking the other way? How long will you continue to ignore that more and more people here are reaching their limits? How long will you keep accepting that critical questions are immediately labeled as unsupportive? In the end, one thing must not be forgotten: This money does not belong to politicians. It is the money of the citizens who work every day, pay taxes, and keep this country running. And politicians have sworn an oath — to avert harm from the German people and to increase their welfare.
