Ban on Demonstrations for Climate Protection – The Reaction of »IDS - Is That So?«The articles of Bürgerstimme are meant to provoke thought. And they do, even among the opponents of Bürgerstimme, as this example shows.
The reaction to the article “Largest AfD Advertising Campaign with Catastrophic CO₂ Footprint” was not long in coming. However, the folks from »IDS – Is That So?« try to counter polemic and irony with more polemic. That it doesn’t work will probably take them some time to realize. One thing, however, was clearly recognized: the danger that demonstrations could be banned for the sake of climate protection. Ban on Demonstrations Due to Cold VirusesSome may remember about five years ago when demonstrations were banned because of this virus from China. The death of countless people was feared by the much-loved government, according to official reports. Well, okay, today we know that the demonstration bans were clearly about prohibiting protests and dissent against the narrative of the much-loved leaders. Censorship and other measures to prevent the spread of alleged “disinformation” followed. The Basic Law, which anti-Corona demonstrators repeatedly held high, was considered an unwanted political opinion and could result in sanctions from the police and authorities, as this video shows very clearly.Back in 2020, it was this “lateral thinker” Michael Ballweg who legally challenged the demonstration ban and won in court. In gratitude, he was later imprisoned for nine months in pre-trial detention in this, the best and most democratic Germany that has ever existed. First on completely false charges, and then with a new accusation of tax evasion because he had not filed his tax return on time. He couldn’t file it because he was in pre-trial detention. His “crime” was revealed after over 40 days of hearings. A total of two items were incorrectly recorded for tax purposes – a tax liability of 19.53 euros. Yes, the effort to conduct this trial, which probably cost several hundred thousand euros, really paid off for the state, didn’t it? What if Ballweg Had Not Gotten the Demonstration Ban Lifted? But what would have happened if Ballweg had not succeeded in overturning the demonstration ban because the courts had deemed the virus risk more serious than the right to demonstrate—the citizens’ right to defend themselves against the government? We can only speculate, but the pandemic years would probably have been much harsher. Critics of the measures would likely have had life made considerably more difficult.Climate Protection in the Basic LawMuch has happened regarding the Basic Law in recent years. Climate protection is now enshrined in the constitution. Climate protection has thus become state doctrine—something the friends of »IDS – Is That So?« and the government from DieLinke to CDU certainly welcome. Because—as these friends have often claimed online—even the tiniest amounts of this evil CO₂ supposedly affect the climate. Even 0.2 CO₂ molecules of German origin per million air molecules (0.2 ppm or 0.00002% CO₂) matter to these friends. They therefore fully support the climate protection goals of their beloved leaders. What is surprising, however, is the view of exactly these friends that the CO₂ produced by the demonstration in Giessen on 29.11.2025 is insignificant. Their thinking even extends to the idea that demonstrations could be banned because they produce too much CO₂. Heureka!I am so proud of you! You are not completely lost. There are still a few brain cells capable of such astonishing achievements. Because yes, it is quite conceivable that climate protection, the prevention of CO₂, could one day be used as a reason to ban demonstrations. Selectively, of course. The good may demonstrate—perhaps because they arrive climate-neutrally by cargo bike or on foot. The bad may not demonstrate, because there is a risk they could use buses, trains, or cars with very, very bad combustion engines to get there. Not to mention the CO₂ produced by police and other authorities. That would make the planet boil. That must not happen! It must be banned! Right? It is not unimaginable that, if Ballweg had not overturned the demonstration ban due to that cold virus, the courts today might issue similar rulings—only using the argument of climate protection, which is now even enshrined in the Basic Law. To some extent, the friends of »IDS – Is That So?« and the beloved leaders have understood. We can therefore look hopefully to the future and look forward to upcoming flashes of genius from these friends. And »Die Bürgerstimme« will continue to try to provoke flashes of genius even among these friends, simply by engaging them with Bürgerstimme’s articles. And someday, these friends will surely understand polemic and irony better as well. I have truly high hopes in this regard. ![]() Author: AI-Translation - Michael Thurm | |
