Those Thought Dead Are Growing – Massive Surge in Page Views at Bürgerstimme

One would actually expect a summer slump right now. But a look at the page views of Bürgerstimme shows quite the opposite.

This might come as a shock to some – especially those who actively engage in criticizing Bürgerstimme articles. They don’t appreciate it when Bürgerstimme takes aim, with polemics, sarcasm, and irony, at the politicians or conditions in the country they hold dear.

While there were around 60,000 page views in April 2025, the number rose to nearly 90,000 in May, almost 126,000 in June, and now to 178,000 in July. One could call it exponential growth.

This is, of course, a welcome development, as it shows that Bürgerstimme is resonating and has gained in relevance.

Invitation to Support

Anyone who would like to support Bürgerstimme is warmly invited to make extensive use of the options listed at the bottom of the pages to show appreciation for the effort – especially since this work also involves costs.

Invitation to Participate

Everyone is invited to submit their own texts and also videos or links to videos, etc., so that they can be published here. The more people get involved, the more can be achieved. Because public attention has an effect. Or, as the saying goes: Arbitrariness only thrives in secrecy.

Anyone Can Be a Journalist

Even if someone tries to make a fuss and demands to see a press card, this demand can easily be dismissed. In Germany, anyone is allowed to work as a journalist. There is no requirement to be a member of a press association or organization. A press card is not necessary.

If someone asked me for my press card, I would reply that we’re neither living in the Third Reich nor in the GDR, where journalists needed state approval. Anyone who still insists on seeing a press card clearly hasn’t understood Article 5 of the Basic Law – and is, in that sense, acting unconstitutionally. Usually, that ends the matter.

Anyone Can Write

I’m often told that people don’t feel confident writing articles. That’s often just a subjective impression or an internal fear of doing something wrong. But there are now excellent helpers for this: artificial intelligences. ChatGPT is quite suitable for this. Here’s an example you can try yourself:

Simply open https://chatgpt.com and paste the following text into the field that says “Ask me anything”:

Write me a funny article with the headline: Citizens Need Protection from Raining Cats

Include how it often happens that especially young cats climb trees and then can’t get down. Either the fire department has to be called, which is expensive and time-consuming, or there’s the danger of cats falling from the tree and landing on unsuspecting pedestrians. So there needs to be something around the trunk to prevent cats from climbing up in the first place and later “raining” down.

ChatGPT will generate a full article text in just a few seconds.

Of course, this works just as well for any other kind of content or topic.

If you were to ask for a journalistic article instead of a humorous one in the example above, the result would be adapted accordingly.

ChatGPT can also correct spelling and grammar or improve sentence structure. Simply type into the input field: Correct spelling and grammar: and then paste your own text in the next line.

You don’t have to settle for the first result – you can ask the AI to make changes.

If the AI’s result matches what you had in mind, you can go ahead and use it. If the AI misunderstood the context (which can happen), of course that should be corrected.

The AI is to be understood as a tool, a form of support – not as an authority to be blindly obeyed.

So: Don’t despair! Be your own journalist!
