Monday Demonstration in Zeitz for the Farmers’ Protest on Monday, January 8, 2024To kick off this year’s Monday protests, we launched a major Monday demonstration in Zeitz with 65 tractors, trucks, and utility vehicles, as well as many other cars, after around 1,200 people had attended our protest rally on the Old Market Square. This protest is directed against the existential threats posed by the current German government to farmers, truckers, transport companies, tradespeople, innkeepers, butchers, and bakers — and ultimately to all citizens who, at the end of the month, don’t know how to pay their bills. This protest is a stand for all of us! The speakers at the rally — some more, some less — clearly laid out the background, connections, and above all the consequences of the policies enacted by this government of the Federal Republic of Germany on the population. Currently, it is especially the farmers whose very livelihoods are under severe threat — and that endangers the food supply for the German people through its own agriculture! This affects all of us, and therefore the farmers — as well as all other professions whose existence is being threatened — deserve support and solidarity in their protest against this government!
