Tax Evader Gets 200,000 Euros Back from the Tax Office - The State Constantly Makes Mistakes

We live in the best Germany of all Orwellian times. Many know it. Most suppress it – as long as it doesn't affect them. And then, of course, there are those obedient to the government who actually celebrate it.

Michael Ballweg, founder of the Querdenken movement, was imprisoned – nine months of pre-trial detention. The accusation: fraud. He allegedly used the donations/gifts that were made to him or to the Querdenken movement in Stuttgart for private purposes rather than for protests. At least that was the story concocted by the prosecution. Donors were questioned, but none felt deceived. Kind of awkward.

The next trick devised by state officials: attempted fraud and tax evasion! Ballweg did not submit his tax return on time. He missed the deadline by a few days. Normally, the tax office sends a reminder in such cases. In this case, however, proceedings were initiated immediately. At that time, Ballweg was still in pre-trial detention – because the competent court simply refused to release him despite several motions – a fact well known to the tax office and state officials. It was also known that all documents had been confiscated and that in prison, without these documents and without a computer, one simply cannot file a tax return. Naturally, these circumstances were of no interest to the state officials.

For those loyal to the government, such facts naturally don't matter. They are certainly convinced that someone like Michael Ballweg – who called for resistance against the state, distancing rules, masks, and vaccinations – must be guilty. Who needs evidence when you have prejudice?

After 40 days of trial, even more was revealed – something that the government loyalists definitely cannot accept: Ballweg appears to be obviously innocent. No evidence could be found. Many witnesses were heard. There was nothing incriminating – but a lot that was exculpatory. The tax return was submitted, but the tax office has yet to process it. The prosecution believes that demonstrations against the government are a lucrative business in which one can make good money.

The court then instructed the tax office to provide a rough tax estimate based on the available findings. The tax office came to the preliminary conclusion that Michael Ballweg does not owe any taxes, but would instead be entitled to a refund of 200,000 euros. So there can no longer be any talk of tax evasion.

Does that interest the prosecution? Of course not. The prosecutors may still hold the same opinion once expressed by the once-beloved former Federal Minister for Economic Affairs, Robert Habeck: "The state does not make mistakes."

I myself have had some experiences in other areas and have heard quite a bit from others. The realization is: "The state constantly makes mistakes." And by "the state," I mean the civil servants who, instead of focusing on laws and facts, prefer to act in anticipatory obedience. And mistakes? Unlawful actions? Well, those are not the problem of the state officials, but of the affected citizens who must arduously go through legal proceedings just to have it clarified that "the state" made another mistake.

Michael Ballweg is one of the outstanding cases that should make everyone aware of what reality out there actually looks like.

And the government loyalists? They'll now start typing nonsense on their keyboards again. But let them – it helps keep their belief system from collapsing. One day, they'll have to face reality. At the latest, when they themselves have to defend against "the state" and unlawful actions.
