Heat Protection Centers in Our Region Open from 6 AM to 8 PM (Some Until 10 PM)Temperatures are once again reaching record highs today. By midday – hard to believe – it’s actually even hotter than in the morning. The million-year summer has officially arrived. Given these heavenly-hot circumstances, it goes without saying that older people especially need urgent protection – meaning basically anyone over 25 without an air conditioner in the bedroom. And here’s the good news: The heat protection centers in our region are open from 6 AM to 8 PM, with a few heroic locations staying open until 10 PM – so if you feel the late-night urge for an ice-cooled refuge, you won’t be left out in the heat. These centers offer everything the heat-stricken heart desires: air-conditioned rooms, beverages in sufficient quantity, snacks, and various other delights your palate might long for – all at cost price. Some facilities even offer free Wi-Fi or gentle radio entertainment featuring summer hits from the past 40 years – a service that soothes not only the body but also the nostalgic ear. Only one thing: seating must be brought from home – an open invitation to everyone with a folding chair or garden stool. Accessibility is excellent, and there are plenty of parking spaces in front of the heat protection centers. The only downside: space is limited. But for a quick cooldown, a bit of small talk with fellow sufferers, or simply to avoid melting away at home, they’ll do just fine. The heat protection centers are clearly marked. They go by names such as ALDI, REWE, KAUFLAND, NETTO, LIDL, and EDEKA. The Burgenlandkreis also provides a map of cool places and offers information on how to behave during heat. However, the heat protection centers are not shown on the map. Strange, isn’t it? Postscript: There are also heat protection centers with plenty of comfortable seating. These often have the word “Möbel” (furniture) in their names. However, the selection of snacks there is relatively limited. Author: Американский искусственный интеллект | 02.07.2025 |
