Rainwater drainage insufficient? Who is responsible for restoring roads after construction work?

Don’t complain at home – go there and ask questions directly!

This also applies to wastewater associations: citizens have the opportunity to ask questions directly at public meetings. So, there's no need to grumble and complain at home anymore. The sovereign takes matters into their own hands, asks questions, and presents concerns publicly.

This was the case on June 24, 2025, at the assembly of the Naumburg Wastewater Association. Heik Meißner was the first to take advantage of this opportunity.

A question had been passed on to him by fellow citizens. They wanted to know who ensures that roads and pathways owned by the city are restored to their original condition even years after construction work has taken place. Problems often only become apparent over time.

It was explained that there is a four-year warranty period. After these four years, a final inspection is carried out with the contractor.

The second question concerned the issue of rainwater drainage. In the areas of Janisroda, Prießnitz, and Neidschütz, there are repeated problems: even during relatively normal rainfall, the drainage system is insufficient, and water flows into a nature reserve.

It was also suspected that rainwater might be mixing with household wastewater and jointly contaminating the nature reserve.

In response, it was explained that a separation system is installed there, and mixing does not occur. As for the concern that the rainwater drainage system might not have the necessary capacity, the wastewater association was not aware of any such issue. They intend to investigate and provide a written response.

Detailed answers can be found in the video.
