Censorship Still Exists - Democracy Is a Dangerous Organization or Group

When the Federal Administrative Court lifts a ban, it’s a normal procedure in a functioning constitutional state. But if that ban concerns the Compact Magazine – a medium one doesn't have to like, but which undoubtedly falls under the fundamental right of press and speech freedom – suddenly, everything becomes a minefield.

Because Facebook, this self-proclaimed guardian of "community standards", apparently sees the mere dissemination of this court ruling as an attack on its worldview.

Two hours after an article was shared on Facebook – mind you, just a reference to the decision by Germany’s highest administrative court – the group “Die Bürgerstimme” was blocked. And the post? Deleted. Reason given: the shared article allegedly violates policies on “dangerous organizations and individuals.”

In other words: Germany’s highest administrative court is apparently no longer compatible with democracy in Facebook’s eyes.

Who’s Really Dangerous Here?

How can an article about a lawful court decision suddenly be labeled dangerous? Simple: because the ruling doesn’t align with the worldview of those who call themselves “defenders of democracy” – but are in truth censors with rainbow profile pictures.

Facebook doesn’t act on its own. These deletions are usually triggered by users. That is, by people who apparently fear free expression so much that they reach for the digital book-burning torch. Ironically, these people mostly come from the same camp that sees itself as “open,” “diverse,” and “tolerant” – but only as long as the opinion fits their ideological framework.

This new version of “democracy” has nothing to do with the old one. It has become a dangerous organization – not because of the constitution, but because of those who believe they must defend it against the citizens. It confuses diversity with conformity, tolerance with obedience, and freedom of expression with threat prevention.

The Digital Inquisition

The fact that a platform like Facebook (whose democratic legitimacy is basically zero) now ignores court rulings and instead censors groups shows where things are headed: those who don’t swim with the mainstream are digitally drowned.

This is no exaggeration – it’s daily reality. The “democracy” as defended today by many activists, NGOs, and tech corporations has long since become a weapon against citizens. A comfort dictatorship cleansed of ideology. Anyone who asks questions – or worse, references a court decision – gets filtered out, blocked, deleted.

Naturally, a review of the decision was requested. But Facebook was already certain, just a few minutes later, that this group – in which only links to articles on buergerstimme.net were posted – poses a threat.

Freedom of Speech – But Only for the “Right” People?

The ruling by the Federal Administrative Court could have been an occasion for debate. For nuance. For discussion. But that is no longer desired. Instead, anything that deviates from the narrative is punished with the full force of the digital pillory.

Facebook and its user militia no longer act as platform operators – but as ideological police. And those who contradict this police are declared a threat.

So yes, censorship is happening. Not in dark backrooms, but publicly, algorithmically, and with applause from those who only celebrate free speech when it’s their own.

Democracy? Yes, please – but for everyone. Not just for those who portray themselves as moral superpowers while silencing every dissenting voice.

Because those who deal with opposing opinions this way are not defenders of democracy. They are its gravediggers.
