The Fear of Citizens Starting to Think for Themselves – How Individuals Can Bring Down Entire State StructuresIt’s an old mantra of resignation: “What can I, as an individual, really achieve?” – This excuse echoes around bar tables, internet forums, and inner monologues whenever it comes to standing up against obvious injustice, manipulation, and the increasingly blatant double standards of Western politics.
It’s an old mantra of resignation: “What can I, as an individual, really achieve?” – This excuse echoes around bar tables, internet forums, and inner monologues whenever it comes to standing up against obvious injustice, manipulation, and the increasingly blatant double standards of Western politics. But this excuse is not only wrong – it’s dangerous. Because it cements the status quo, it turns us into followers, into silent accomplices of a system that only continues to exist because we refuse to hold a mirror up to it.
And behold: Two individuals – no tanks, no billion-dollar budgets, no party machinery – armed with just a microphone, a blog, a camera, and the uncomfortable truth – shake the establishment. We’re talking about Thomas Röper and Alina Lipp. Two names that now seem to populate the sweaty nightmares of Brussels bureaucrats. https://t.me/s/neuesausrussland https://anti-spiegel.ru/ How else can one explain the EU feeling compelled to impose sanctions on two journalists (!) – as if they were major criminals, warmongers, or oligarchs? What a farce. What a revelation! If two people armed with nothing but words and research can pose such a threat to a union of 27 states, it says less about Röper and Lipp – and much more about the EU itself. About its nervousness, its fear of losing control, its fear that the “wrong” information might fall on fertile ground: a citizen who begins to think for themselves. Because anyone following these two knows: they are merely reporting. From the other side. From Russia, about Russia, from a perspective that in the West has now been declared heresy. That alone is enough today for censorship, frozen bank accounts, and international punitive measures. A madness that even Orwell would have found excessive. And here lies what is both truly shocking – and at the same time hopeful: Yes, individuals can make a difference. They can press their finger so firmly into the wound that the top guardians of the narrative begin to twitch. That the elite circles in Brussels, usually busy with sanctions against states, armies, and corporate empires, suddenly feel compelled to deal with a Telegram channel and a blog. Isn’t that revealing? So stop saying you can’t change anything. Röper and Lipp are doing exactly that – and the price they’re paying is clear proof: they’ve hit a nerve. And that nerve seems to be so sensitive that entire state apparatuses feel the need to strike back. Anyone who still believes that individuals are powerless either hasn’t recognized the signs of the times – or has long become part of the machinery that feeds off the passivity of the masses. The beginning of the end of great systems never starts with a coup – but always with a few voices that refuse to be silenced. And that is exactly what is happening right now.
