12 Percent Higher Admission for 14 Percent Fewer Opening Hours

Naumburg has to cut costs at its museums because the funds are empty.

Press Release

Changes in the Opening Hours of the Municipal Museums Starting from 01.04.2025

Starting from April 1, 2025, the opening hours of the Naumburg City Museums will be adjusted due to the strained financial situation. Visitors can visit the City Museum "Hohe Lilie," the Wenzel Tower, the Marientor, the Romanesque House with the Käthe Kruse Doll Exhibition in Bad Kösen, and the Max Klinger House in Großjena from Tuesday to Sunday, as well as on public holidays, between 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM. The Max Klinger House, the Wenzel Tower, and the Marientor will be open seasonally from April to October.

The diverse educational offers at the City Museum "Hohe Lilie" can be booked outside of regular hours by arrangement.

Additionally, starting April 1, the admission fees will increase. The entrance fee for the City Museum "Hohe Lilie," the Romanesque House in Bad Kösen, the Max Klinger House in Großjena, and the Gallery in the Little Castle will be 5.50 Euros for adults, 4.50 Euros for guest card holders, and 3.50 Euros for reduced-rate visitors. Children and teenagers up to 18 years old, as well as students, will continue to have free admission. For climbing the Wenzel Tower, the fees will be 3.00 Euros for adults, 2.00 Euros for reduced-rate visitors, and 1.00 Euro for children and teenagers from 6 years old. On the first Sunday of each month, admission to the City Museum "Hohe Lilie" will continue to be free.
