The 12 Apocalyptic Molecules – When You Can No Longer Live Without FearThe world is ending – still. Every day a little more. And no end to the apocalypse is in sight. ![]() The wind, the storm, the hurricane keep hitting me again and again in our region when I, one of those who question, who publicly post one opinion or another, even if it doesn’t have to be mine. An opinion that, however, does not correspond to what the official, the right, the only true truth can be. The truth that is dictated by the leaders loved by many and is to be dutifully repeated. This also includes the truth about climate change. And here too, there are believers who are absolutely convinced that it can only be humans who will make the Earth, Germany in particular, uninhabitable if humans continue to produce CO2 in these huge quantities. Admittedly, until a few years ago, I too believed that CO2 needed to be reduced. That was and still is explained everywhere all the time. But then the pandemic was declared. The leaders loved by many suddenly decided that humanity was basically on the brink of extinction because of this cold virus. Who doesn’t remember the statement that soon everyone would be vaccinated, recovered, or dead? The latter, of course, applied to those who refused to get vaccinated. Strangely, I and many others survived. Was this statement misinformation by the leaders loved by many? Then the pandemic was allowed to fade away. Somehow, the stories about the effectiveness of the miracle cure (vaccination) were not confirmed. Vaccinated people still got sick. Kind of stupid, right? But luckily, the war in Ukraine was started. And now the narrative was that Ukraine must win this war. It was clear to me that this would hardly succeed. The balance of power showed that to me and others, these “conspiracy skeptics.” But hey, what do they know? During the pandemic, it was very important to save every human life — no matter the cost. In the Ukraine war, the motto was and is the exact opposite: Fight to the last Ukrainian — no matter how many lives it costs. Of course, this is no contradiction for the government believers. When you repeatedly see that the leaders loved by many obviously do not have the well-being of the people in mind, you begin to question the statements of these leaders. A war can hardly be considered an environmental or climate protection measure. The production of weapons, even if they are not used, consumes raw materials and energy. But for the government followers, that is no contradiction either. The 12 Apocalyptic MoleculesHow much CO2 is there actually in the atmosphere? The answer is: surprisingly little. It is about 400 ppm or 0.04 percent of the atmosphere. This can also be read on Wikipedia, among other sources. 400 ppm means 400 CO2 molecules within one million air molecules. For government believers, of course, that is far too much. But the next question is: How much of that comes from humans? The answer is even more astonishing: It is 3 percent of those 400 ppm. That equals 12 ppm or 12 CO2 molecules within one million air molecules. Even that is clearly far too much for government believers in Germany.Okay, what is Germany’s share of these 12 CO2 molecules? The answer is downright shocking: about 1.8 percent — or 0.216 CO2 molecules within one million air molecules. But even that is logically far too much for government followers. They immediately point out that CO2 traps infrared radiation and that is exactly what heats the atmosphere. Okay, how long can a CO2 molecule trap infrared radiation if no new infrared radiation is delivered by the sun? The answer is simply dreadful: a whole 50 microseconds. Not hours, minutes, seconds, or milliseconds — no: microseconds. If the sun disappears, the energy stored in the CO2 molecules also disappears immediately. Another Attempt to Take Away the Fear of the Government FollowersThe government followers insist, as is well known, that CO2 has steadily increased since the beginning of industrialization, because that is constantly told. But is that really true? Here, AI can help shed some light when you know how to ask the AI — although the AI is quite programmed to follow the government line. For example, if you ask who took CO2 measurements in the 19th century, the AI claims there was no one. If you ask what CO2 values were measured, the AI says they were around 280 ppm. So measurements did exist.Dig a little deeper and ask specifically when Max von Pettenkofer measured 400 ppm in nature, and the AI explains that this happened in the 1850s. Oops, values that we still have today. Although the AI on the other hand refuses to consider these measurements valid. The AI gladly refers to the indirect determination of CO2 concentrations from ice cores. Thank God! That way, government followers can continue to cling to their fear of the apocalypse. The Fear of the Government FollowersPersonally, I am not afraid of CO2 because, from my point of view, the numbers simply do not indicate that it poses a danger. The climate is constantly changing. The influence of humans is likely relatively small compared to the influence of the sun. I asked the AI about the fear of government followers, or rather why people insist on holding on to such fear. The AI wrote:Confirmation Bias: People tend to seek out and accept information that supports their existing beliefs while ignoring or rejecting contradictory facts. Catastrophizing: A cognitive distortion where people assume the worst-case scenarios and focus on negative consequences, even if the probability is low. Groupthink: When a particular view is dominant in a social or media bubble, this belief is reinforced because opposing arguments are ignored or devalued. Existential Fear: Climate change is often portrayed as a threat to all humanity. People are especially susceptible to fears linked to their survival and may therefore block out rational arguments. Social Identity: Some beliefs are not just factual assessments but part of one’s identity or sense of belonging to a group. Changing one’s opinion might mean distancing oneself from a social group or ideology, which is psychologically difficult. Author: AI-Translation - Michael Thurm | 01.03.2025 |
