Because you’re stupid children, this is how it goes! Once again proven!

If you want to understand why the Western world and politics are the way they are, you only have to watch the TV duel between Trump and Biden – or rather, what came after.

I can only view much of what’s happening out there with irony, polemics, and sarcasm, and I often have to smirk. There’s a saying: Every nation gets the government it deserves. The American people have a special government, but the German people aren’t far behind.

On June 28, 2024, the big TV duel between Donald Trump and Joe Biden took place. I didn’t watch it because politics in many areas is just a show anymore. What was enough for me was what Jill Biden, Joe Biden’s wife, said to him after the debate: “You answered all the questions! You knew all the facts!”

Immediately, the question arose: What is this?

Biden is one of the most powerful men in the world. He always carries the briefcase with the button to launch nuclear missiles nearby. And his wife praises him like a primary school kid who just passed an oral exam. If anyone still doubted the state of this democracy, this was a clear answer. It’s not just that Jill made her husband Joe look like a dumb boy, but also that such a show is even possible. The entire caste of politicians, advisors, and media pulled off this theater and hyped it as an important event. How anyone could think of running a man in this mental state again for the US presidency is beyond me. But it should make everyone clear: “We’re screwed!” Sorry for the expression, but this proves that the political system is so entangled and intertwined that no one dares to criticize beforehand. That’s probably because there are so many dependencies that the participants cannot or do not want to free themselves from.

This also shows how voters, the sovereign of a democracy, are viewed: as stupid children who see nothing through and can be fed such a show.

In Germany, it’s not much different. You could see that after the last European elections. The SPD was punished. SPD chairwoman Saskia Esken explained in an interview afterward that their messages didn’t get through to the voters. So the assumption was: you are stupid children who only need to be told why politics has to be the way it is carried out. If you don’t understand that and maybe even democratically vote for undemocratic or government-critical parties, well then you really are... honestly... it couldn’t get any dumber!

It also works on a regional level. This was seen in the municipal election in Weißenfels. The mayor was placed on the list of eligible city council candidates, even though it was clear he wouldn’t give up his office as mayor to become a council member. But he can only be mayor or council member. This was not only known to the CDU, they admitted it beforehand. Legally it might be a gray area, morally it is definitely more than questionable. Here too, those responsible went fishing for fools. The mayor went on a campaign tour for a post he never intended to take and received over 7,000 votes, more than 47 percent of the votes cast for the CDU.

One might think that in a functioning democracy, the competitors in other parties and voter groups would take legal action against such tricks or at least heavily criticize them. According to the result, the competitors were obviously at a considerable disadvantage, and those voters who thought the mayor would switch to the council were deliberately deceived. But no, nothing happens. If the mayor hadn’t been on the list, other parties and voter groups probably could have gained one or two more seats in the council. I can’t shake the impression that even here mutual connections and dependencies exist. They know each other well, want to cooperate well, and possibly tolerate such tricks because they themselves want some tricks tolerated here and there. They belong to different parties and voter groups, but that’s probably just a different label. And so – with few exceptions – no one will criticize this behavior. You know what I mean, the whole eye-for-an-eye and crow business!

For me, the conclusion remains that you, the voters, the sovereign, are regarded as stupid children. You let yourself be sold as fools and therefore you are sold as fools – without batting an eye. As long as you put up with this, it will continue like this.
