She has now been held there for almost three years. Today I continue my series of reports. I will give away the conclusion in advance: the situation has not improved. Christmas 2025: A supporter had flowers delivered to Johanna via a Frankfurt flower shop to the prison. A prison staff member forced Johanna, under the threat that otherwise she would not be given the flowers, to acknowledge receipt in advance—before actually receiving them. No sooner had Johanna signed than the staff member began checking which flowers Johanna was even allowed to keep. She removed some of the flowers from the bouquet—(from Johanna’s perspective) the most beautiful ones—as well as some of the greenery. She then left the remaining bouquet sitting without water in the office for two hours. After 3 p.m. (after the Christmas service), Johanna was given what was left of the bouquet. January 18, 2026: Johanna reported to me that the head of House F, where Johanna is being held, has ordered that Johanna is no longer allowed to make phone calls to her defense lawyers outside of regular unlock times on weekends. This means: she may now only speak with her lawyers when all prisoners on her corridor have their cells unlocked. She is no longer specifically let out of her cell for calls with her defense. The consequence: confidential phone calls with her lawyers are no longer possible for Johanna on weekends. A clear violation of Section 148 of the German Code of Criminal Procedure. Since the end of February 2026, the showers on the floor where Johanna is housed have been broken. Prisoners must sign up on lists to use showers on other floors within assigned time slots. He falsely claimed that Johanna had repeatedly declined physiotherapy appointments and had stated in January 2026 that she was symptom-free. This allegedly emerges from her file (presumably her prisoner personal file). Johanna denied this in her conversation with the doctor. And indeed: her last physiotherapy appointment dates back to summer 2025. It is therefore completely irrational to believe that her complaints could have resolved themselves. Johanna said she is experiencing pain throughout her body because she gets too little exercise. The prison doctor merely responded that it was Johanna’s responsibility if she did not get enough exercise. Completely ignored was the fact that Johanna is offered far too few opportunities for sports. The doctor also stated that before approving physiotherapy, he first wanted to take blood (which makes no sense at all given musculoskeletal complaints). Johanna replied that if blood were being taken anyway, her vitamin D3 level should also be checked.
